In every phase of history where we shed old ways, structures, and ideologies, we grapple with our new identity and how to place ourselves in this new world.
For a lot of people in modern times, right versus wrong has been replaced by team loyalty and a cult-like way of looking at the home team versus outsiders. This has been indoctrinated in insidious ways through culture and propaganda, and this peaks starkly as of 2026, triggered by the recent era-defining Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the “World Point”, zero degrees of Aries.
It’s so important to maintain our humanity, our sense of right and wrong, and realise where we have been played by outer influences to lose sight of it. In the spirit of Aries, realise where we may have betrayed ourselves and our values by peering outward through the lens of group or national identity, rather than as a sovereign human being.
This is where we are now as we have just passed the vernal equinox, which is also known as the astrological new year as the Sun crosses into the Tropical Zodiac sign of Aries, where Saturn and Neptune made their once-in-36-year conjunction on February 20th.
In the month ahead there is an unusually high concentration of planets in Aries that focus our attention on the needs and wants of the individual self, and on new ways of being and doing things.
Mars-ruled Aries relates to stepping boldly into the unknown, pioneering new ideas and actions, and inspiring others through open curiosity. Individual desire is strong here and courage can lead us to head out in new directions.
(I have to acknowledge that Mars, the ruler of Aries, also represents violence and war, but that is not our topic here…)
Restrictive Saturn being in Tropical Aries is helpful now, as every planet entering Aries will first connect with visionary Neptune, followed by task-master Saturn which provides a welcome reality check.
Move ahead when you feel calm and clear, but don’t mistake clarity for readiness either! Things are moving so fast it’s actually a good time to play the long game and take time to refine whatever your plans entail. Avoid overextending yourself just because the energy feels high right now!
On March 25th the Sun conjoins Saturn then sextiles Pluto, and on the 27th Saturn will sextile Pluto – the opening sextile from their 13 January 2020 conjunction in Capricorn, which included the Sun on January 13th. This was the (public) beginning of the Covid era, the narratives and consequences of which are now increasingly being challenged.
Such challenges will be supported by the cooperative connection between Saturn in Mars-ruled Aried, symbolising structures and authority in the sign of the individual, and Pluto in Saturn-ruled Aquarius, which symbolises power, the underworld, and change through crisis in relation to society and the future. Both planets refer to death and endings, real or metaphorical. Apply the symbolism where you will.
Pluto also confronts us with the discomfort of our own choices. Saturn makes life difficult where we don’t take responsibility. We can ask ourselves “what have I been running away from?”
If we keep looking away or pretending someone else is responsible for what we feel is going wrong in our life, the discomfort doesn’t go away – it gets worse. That the sign-based symbolism of this configuration strongly refers to the individual’s role within society, our personal choices deserve the utmost consideration as we try to find our place in this new world.
The intellect can muddle up strong intuition and post-retrograde Mercury now stationed direct on the North Node/Rahu can lead to over-thinking things which in turn leads to anxiety and analysis paralysis. Take time to reflect and don’t let emotions force your choices.
Directed emotions are potent and leave a mark, so clarify your heart’s direction by slowing down to regularly check in with your energy body! Channel strong emotions in a healthy way by setting goals for YOURSELF, not others.
(I often make better decisions after spending time outside with my dog, like at the beach here in Dénia (pictured above), where I spend the “off season”.)
So when things come to a head it can seem like an outside event has happened TO us, but really we are seeing the consequences of ignoring our own unconscious behaviour… and intuition.
The good news is, we are a sovereign individuals and have everything we need to guide own our choices and life path through our innate sense of right and wrong.
Sending you much love and light as always,
Susan
